A truck load of stuff has happened since my last entry, but I don't feel like putting it al down at the moment! So, instead, here's a meme 8B

What do you call:

1. A body of water, smaller than a river, contained within relatively narrow banks.

Stream

2. What the thing you push around the grocery store is called.

Grocery cart

3. A metal container to carry a meal in.

Lunch box

4. The thing that you cook bacon and eggs in.

Frying pan

5. The piece of furniture that seats three people.

Couch

6. The device on the outside of the house that carries rain off the roof.

Gutter

7. The covered area outside a house where people sit in the evening.

Porch, if screened in; veranda

8. Carbonated, sweetened, non-alcoholic beverage.

Soda

9. A flat, round breakfast food served with syrup.

Pancake

10. A long sandwich designed to be a whole meal in itself.

Sub

11. The piece of clothing worn by men at the beach.

Trunks

12. Shoes worn for sports.

Running shoes

13. Putting a room in order.

Tidying

14. A flying insect that glows in the dark.

Firefly

15. The little insect that curls up into a ball.

Potato bug

16. The children's playground equipment where one kid sits on one side and goes up while the other sits on the other side and goes down.

Teeter totter

17. How do you eat your pizza?

Pointy-end first

18. What's it called when private citizens put up signs and sell their used stuff?

Yard sale

19. What's the evening meal?

Supper

20. The thing under a house where the furnace and perhaps a rec room are?

Cellar if it's just furnace/storage, basement if it's a rec room

21.     <lj:music>Sasha - Calling Your Name</lj:music>

So, I spent an excruciatingly boring day at work, it being Labour Day, everyone thought we were closed. No, of course not, we're never closed! It turned out all right in the end, since I got a chance to draw up a virtually finished map of my new campaign setting, and doze-off for around half an hour before closing, because Dan showed up to keep me company (yay!).

Went back to his house for food(tunabake <3) and watched a few episodes of Full Metal Alchemist, because Dan hasn't seen any of it and I'm determined to get him through the whole series. A little ways through one of the episodes, Rafie showed up with Vickie to put together Dan's custom PC that he's building for him, and they did that for a while-- I read a few of the things in Races of the Wild to keep myself amused and fed Kitty some Crispers (apparently, she likes Ranch.)

Afterwards Rafie and Dan played Halo while Vickie and I did other things, I think she slept or something, and I screwed around with Dan's PC until around 10 50 or so, when we decided to leave.

Here's where things get interesting.

So, we're driving home, enjoying the relaxing drive(I'm prattling a bit about the possibility of me helping to fix up/rebuild a 1985 fv1000r Honda Motorcycle <333333333333 but more on that later--) listening to the music, etc. A typical Rafie drive home.

So, when we get onto Hymus, just in front of the Zellers complexe, we're stuck behind a bus when the light turns green, and it's still waiting for passengers to get on/off, so Rafie goes around it-- and JUST as we get onto the cross-section, a fucking black SUV comes out of NOWHERE(gunning through the yellow light he must've seen as he turned the corner). I didn't think we were going to crash, but holy shit did we ever.

We smashed RIGHT into his back left-- from what I understand, the back tire axel is completely severed, along with some pretty bad damage to the rear.

...Rafie's car was totalled. The damage that car ate is completely irreparable-- the whole front of the drivers side was CRUSHED inwards, we were coughing through a cloud of smoke when we stopped to get out, and luckily, no one was seriously injured. Vickie was the only one ot get taken to the hospital, likely for mild whiplash-- Rafie was fine, and I'm fine(except for the bruise the seatbelt's gonna leave on my flesh, and a bit of a headache XDDD) and the driver of the other car was fine as well.

Jeez @__@; My first car accident, and considering the damage to the car we were in, I'm amazed that no one was hurt worse. @@;;

At any rate, I think I'm gonna sleep now-- I'm really tired.

Figured I might as well post something interesting for a change XD;;;;

As some of you may, or may not know, I've been in New Brunswick for the past few days (left Friday morning at 7 AM) for the purpose of going to my cousin Steven's wedding. It was a rather cute affair, short and sweet and Holly looked absolutely gorgeous, though I'm still inclined to believe that almost everyone's focus was on the children of the wedding party, namely Cooper and Charley, the twins. Then again, that's to be expected-- everyone loves kids. XD

The reception went over quite well too, though I left early, what with Molly dancing around like mad, racing between the throngs of giant dancing feet, the DJ playing music that everyone could appreciate(mostly old "down 'ome" tunes), and drinks were flowing freely. Even I was coaxed into having a few rhum&coke's by Christina, who is a hazard to my moral values.

Guh, I'm really tired, since we had to check out of the hotel at 11AM today, and I've only had a few hours of sleep. T_T Maybe I'll be able to catch a few minutes later on, otherwise I'll be falling asleep much too early. XD

Blah, don't feel that great this morning ; ;. But I need to open up the shoppe today, so I have little choice but to drag my ass from bed! Oh well, hopefully I'll feel better after eating something.

Hung out at my cousins house yesterday, and had my first glimpse of what Halo 2, Live is all about. I might be remotely okay at the game itself, but put me up against experienced players, and I'm a dead woman. XD;;; Cannon fodder anyone? Still, running around as a purple-and-orange-armored Covenant Elite made me happy.

I also wound up watching Cry Wolf, which was an interesting movie. Well executed in my opinion, and while it was slightly unpredictable, I saw the ending coming from a mile away. Had me going for the first few minutes, though.

Uuuugh, I'm tired. XD;;

Going to eat breakfast, I'm incohereant, or something.

Uuugh. XD;

I'm starting to get such a sore back from standing around in the shoppe all day, between bending down to stock shelves and lifting boxes and everything in between. I hate, hate, hate stocking the top shelves, and I'm quite glad they don't get used much, because stocking them involves using a step ladder, and although it's only like, two feet off the ground, I'm very uncomfortable about not being able to balance on the ground. Besides, ladders creep me out. They could crumple at any moment!

Aside from this, tomorrow is my first day absolutely alone in the store. As in, although Diane will be on speed-dial #2 on the phone, I'll be managing everything by myself, answering questions I likely don't know the answers to, and generally panicking inwardly while I serve the interesting assortment of prevous residents from Great Britain.

Wowza, I can already feel the panic setting in. T___T

So, things I have to do tomorrow include;

-Making sure everything is stocked(especially in the Brit Room)
-E-mailing the warehouse about what we're low on
-Taking out the garbage
-Making sure everything is accessible
-Figuring out the weird +50$ on the daily cash thingy >_<
-Dusting
-Sweeping
-Becoming un-nervous about answering the damn phone XD

And a multitude of others I can't think of right now.

Yeesh.

Yeah, gonna go get some sleep now, and hopefully look forward to watching The Brothers Grimm when I get home from work. Providing I don't die. |D

I think I'll put on a movie to fall asleep to.. Maybe le version francais of The Phantom of the Opera.

    <lj:music>The Cranberries - Zombie</lj:music>

So, I should really be sleeping right now, seeing as I have to get up in a few hours to go to work. >>;;;;;

..Oh, right yeah, Fishy got the job! .. You know, the teashoppe one? Yeah, sweet. <3 Only it's not all about tea, but actually mostly about British import foods XD Which is awesome. Because British food is some of the neatest things I've ever seen, and when I get all these people walking in with accents... <3333 I was working last Saturday, when England had it's first game and won, and almost everyone who came in entered with some variant of, "YEAH, ENGLAND WON!"

Which was sweet. Since I was originally supposed to watch that game, when Dan and I planned it a few weeks back, but duty called ; ;. My first day of work fell on that day, which kinda made me a leeetle upset, but it all balanced out with the amount of fun I had XD;;

Yeah, Friday the 9th was my one-year anniversary of dating Dan. Kinda scary, now that I think about it XD; HOW FAR I'VE COME FROM BEING OBLIVIOUS THROUGH HIGHSCHOOL :DDDDD;;;;

He took me to the Commensal, a spectacular vegetarian buffet downtown *_*;; Wow, I didn't think I liked vegetarian food that much. I think I could live without meat with that kind of food, and Dan's mum makes the BEST meals I've ever had. I never knew spaghetti could be so yummy. T_T; But yes! We went to the Commensal, ate dinner and talked a lot, which was so nice. T_T; I hardly ever get to do it, just talk with him about random stuff since we're usually around a lot of people, so that was just.. nice.

He said a couple of things that made me laugh, since we were only supposed to meet Mike at 7.. or 8 30, rather, and we'd finished dinner by 7 XD;; Not that we weren't agonizing through the delicious and overly filling desserts up until we had to go, but that's beside the point! He said he'd planned it that way, since it always seems like I'm in a rush to do everything, never having a moment to sit back and relax, to enjoy things. XD; It was cute, and I really did appreciate it.

We met up with Mike at the Paramount on schedule, though after we'd bought the tickets, he convinced us to go back to his house, because he wasn't sure if he'd locked his door-- and since he's in, and I quote, "Axe-murderer central," I didn't blame him for wanting to check. We ended up being late for the movie and missing the credits, but The Omen turned out to be as crappy as all of us expected. XD;

Then it was off to bed, up in the morning with BED IN BREAKFAST AND YUMMY OMELETS OMG. Mike makes a mean cheese omelet. Then I was off to work and about half-an-hour early :D I had a weird dizzy spell on the bus, though T_T; Didn't happen again once I got off, so it was probably just motion sickness :D

Worked all day, was very fun, and less stressful than I expected. XD; Was extremely happy to know England won-- AND CONTINUES TO DO SO, YEEEEAH! XDDD

So, I have work tomorrow, and writing this has helped me be sleepy, yay.

Nini everyone ;   ;..~

I'm waiting for the nice lady (Diane) to give me a call back so she can show me around the store and whatnot, but when I went to see her on Saturday under the coaxing of Dan and his mum, she said she was fairly certain I'd be hired. Unless, of course, if someone more geared towards the job drops by in the meanwhile, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that doesn't happen. XD;

Training would start in July, the job itself in August. ANd here's the kicker; DESPITE BEING AN AVID COFFEE FANATIC-- This little shoppe is, you guessed it; a Tea Shoppe. Maison Bramblehouse it's too cute T_T; There's so many sparkly things in there! *_*;;

That's pretty much all I've been doing recently-- looking for a job. And gaming. Haha, Rafie's got this awesome game going on Tuesday nights in the Alternity system, and it's great. Dan's game is still running strong, and I hope it continues to so for a long, long time XD;;; I love Calien too much to put him away just yet XD;

OH OH

Last night I FINALLY watched Mirrormask. It was also rather satisfying to watch a movie that didn't actually have some lame, ill-thought ending, especially when dealing with all the ism's in that movie. O_o;

Aaand cue angst!

Sorta, anyway.

More like, school-angst. XD I've been sick for a few days, and haven't really been caring about attending my classes this semester.. I've been slacking off, avoiding work, and, like I usually do when something gets tough or it comes down to something I really don't want to do, or can't do, or even THINK I can't do, I'm running away.

I know I should pull things together, finish up this semester and pass everything... Since I could, if I actually, honest-to-the-gods TRIED for once. But really, I don't know what I want to do. I'm struggling so hard through even wanting to BE in school, that I really just don't.. want to stay. Maybe I'm not ready for this yet, but if I quit now, I wonder if I'll ever go back. Even still, at the rate I'm going, I'll probably flunk out and then NEVER get a chance to go back.. Augh. I wish I could find something I'm good at, and enjoy, but it doesn't seem like there's anything out there for me. And I can't sit around doing nothing with my life, one, because I NEED to be doing something, and two, because I think my family would kill me. I know they're disappointed in me, and it's hard dealing with it, because as much as I want to make them proud, I can't.

I just.. really don't know what I'm going to do.

    <lj:music>Kamelot - Fall From Grace</lj:music>

Whee, I was bored. Ashtaroth drabble <3

A chorus of cat-calls, curses, and shouting filled the night, and the background music was nothing less than the grunts and slaps and impact of flesh on flesh, and flesh on bone, and flesh on asphalt. Here and there a glass bottle of some form of sticky, intoxicating alchohol echoed through the night, but the music of the fight wasn't nearly as overwhelming as Ashtaroth wished it was. He reveled in the pain of every punch, hissed with pleasure as his flesh bruised and split, grinned even more mercilessly and wildly the more his knuckles bled- not only with his own, thick, crimson blood, but the blood of his beefy opponents. He was losing. And he didn't give one flying fuck.

There was something incredible about being in a situation where it wasn't certain he'd come out on top, because it happened so rarely. Mind you, he was heavily intoxicated by much of the contents of the broken, shattered bottles that lay strewn around the circle of leather-and-silver-stud-clad men, but that didn't matter in the slightest, judging from the crazed grin plastered over his face. A face that was, surprisingly, rather clear of wounds, save for a cut above one of his eyebrows, and a badly split lip. He was fast, fast enough to deflect most of their blows to less important areas of his battle-hardened body. However, he was slower than normal, and he'd made enough mistakes to wind up with several gashes over his back, chest, legs and arms, from being tossed and scraped across the glass-littered concrete. He hadn't seemed to notice.

There were only three of them remaining standing, the other 5 had gone down. Whether by their own accord or Ashtaroth's, they were out of the fight, but perhaps not permanently. Ash wasn't out to kill tonight, he was only out to have fun. Judging from his definition of fun, someone verywell could be killed by anyone less skilled than he. Fortunately, the alcohol charging through his veins had kept him from making several fatal miscalculations by throwning off what would normally be seen, by anyone with a trained eye, as death-blows. Some habits die hard. Pardon the pun.

It was within moments that Ashtaroth, with some regret, finished off the remaining men, one with a solid roundhouse to the face, the next with an elbow to the gut, and the last.. Well, the last simply fell over. Ash wasn't sure whether he'd done anything at all to that one, but his mind was so hazed that he couldn't care less. His body ached, and he bled. He bled blood so crimson, so dark that it didn't seem like blood at all, but a ruby red syrup that pooled at his feet, thickened by the drink. His flashing, steely eyes narrowed on an unbroken, half-empty bottle that had tipped over, but thanks to the shape of it's body and the fact that no one had fallen on it yet, had retained the blessing Ashtaroth was searching for.

He hoisted the bottle to his lips, took a grand, deep swig of it(most of it dribbling down his chin to mix with his blood, staining the front of what remained of his white shirt with both the soft gold of whatever he was drinking, and the crimson of his blood. He'd never get that out. Gasping, he turned that manic grin of his to the crowd.

"Fuck you, motherfuckers. You think you had a fuckin' chance with someone like me? HAH!" His cruel, beautiful laughter rang through the night, and he staggered off, heading down the street. After a moment of walking, however, something hit him-- Hadn't he been here with someone? Had they been watching? He hoped so. He swayed slightly, took another swig of the bottle, and waited, figuring they'd catch up to him. He didn't care to look back at the comparatively gentle carnage he'd left behind him.

Ashtaroth wasn't a kind man, but he wasn't a bad man either. Maybe he was kind. He was gentle, sometimes. He wasn't, however, weak. And he was beautiful, or ugly, or both- but he was definitely powerful. A predator. He was true, he was unadultered.

He was raw.

The wind caressed him like a lover would, tossing his sweat, blood, tears and alcohol matted violet mane across his back. The flaps of his tattered clothing snapped gently against him, and he closed his eyes to enjoy it. The cool air sent a shiver down his spine, colder than normal against the fight-induced heat that seared across his skin. The sweat and blood that covered him began to cool, but his blood still ran hot in his veins. There was an endless amount of energy that balled up beneath the tenseness of his muscles- and for the moment, he was... content.

But a monster never sleeps.

Gn.

So, school's going alright :D I have interesting teachers, not SOMANYCOURSESTHATMYBRAINEXPLODES and enough time to myself that I don't feel overwhelmed! (Mind you, this is still the first week. XD) I decided to take a later bus this morning, and it's going to make me late for my english class, but I don't care! :D The class has like, 15 people in it anyway. XD;

I came into the posession of a Magic, the Gathering card deck >_>;; So I'm learning how to play that with my green/white saproling spawning thing, and it's somewhat fun XD; It brings back memories of when I used to play Pokemon D: (YESIWASADORKANDSTILLAMLEAVEMEALONE).

Had a strange dream about exploring an ancient pirate ship last night :\ That was interesting, and there was a parrot! XD

Eh, anyway, gotta run to catch my bus! ~==zoom!

Oh, this is totally going to suck. >_>;

So, I hate brushing my hair. Hence why I am strongly attached to -short- hair. XD; And, while I have a shower every morning, it's rare that I'll actually take the time to brush my hair- it tends to fall where it will ANYWAY and brushing takes time in which I could be doing something else! ...So now I have a few thin knots right in the back, where my hood and/or scarf or short collar or whathaveyou have caused, that I'm going to HAVE to brush out, before the urge to dread my hair becomes overwhelming XD I think I'd have fun with dreads T_T; Which is why I must resist! Because if I give in, then I won't have the will to save money to get a haircut, which is even more important to me D:

So, yeah, sucktime T_T;

In other news, I went to see Underworld II: Evolution last night! ...I... I'm still waiting for the plot to hit me. >_>;;; I mean, it felt like about two total minutes of plot was crammed into what's otherwise a gore-fest with mediocre effects(Oh, but the blood's good.) 9___9;;;; I loved the first movie, but this one just feels... Totally... LACKING. I'm not sure what it's lacking, but there's hardly any emotion, next-to-no-plot, random things that develop randomly, and "plot(what plot?) twists" that you see coming from a mile away. ..More like ten.

But there's one thing that makes this movie awesometacularly worth seeing. MARKUS' DESIGN. OMGLOVE<3 I was squeeing through the whole film every time he shifted up(or down, because he's strangely sexy in that weird.. ...uh.. I'm not sure. I think I'm just weird.) because he was just AWESOME in his "hybrid" form. Ahn. *_* <3 I was disappointed with the effect on the werewolves once again, and disappointed in general when the werewolves didn't... really.. play a prominent role in this whatsoever. Actually, neither of the clans were featured much at all. Hmm. Yep, it was mostly Selene kicking ass, Michael kicking ass, sex, gore, blood, guts, gore, OHPLOT?? gore, blood--- did I mention gore and fighting?

Basically, it was a good movie if you didn't go in expecting much.

Oh well. 9_9;

There were a few good previews, at anyrate! Ultraviolet looks corny, and yet good. I want to see the horror movie where a silent hill-esque MMORPG starts coming to reality and killing the players in the ways they die in the game. That looks awesome. <3 And I'll be terrified even MORE whenever I pick up a Silent Hill game. Or Resident Evil even. Or Fatal Frame. ...You know, horror games in general. XD XD

OHYEAH.

Made new icons. Mmmm, Nocturne. <3

Babbling now. *poof!*
